I have just recently tried the free trial of ALOHA’s ‘The Daily Good’. It is a dried green juice that you can use however you like. It is a perfect smoothie add or you can make it into a quick drink. My favorite way to drink it is mixed with almond or coconut milk and two teaspoons of matcha green tea powder then pour over ice to make a perfect iced latte. It is refreshing and energizes you. I enjoy it after a morning workout or as a mid-day snack. You can buy ALOHA products as you please or you can sign up for a monthly subscription. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking to jump on the green drink bandwagon. You can find Matcha green tea powder on many health websites or at Whole Foods Market.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Aside from blogging when I have free time, I spend my full day at the office. I work for Boston Scientific as an internal finance auditor. This is a new role for me at the company as of June. This role requires me to travel often across the United States as well as globally. The past two weeks was my first audit trip..
A two week work trip in Mexico City threw a large curveball into my workout and healthy eating routine. The food there could be amazing but because of the contaminated water issue we were very restricted. We could not eat any fruit and all our vegetables; they had to be cooked. We were told to stay away from seafood and dairy to be safe too! It didn’t leave us with many healthy options.. Luckily I packed enough Vega One Nutritional Shakes and Aloha Daily Good packets to get my mornings off to a good start. These Vega One Nutritional Shakes kept me full all the way through lunch; they have 15g of protein and 50% of your nutrients and daily vitamins. I bought the French Vanilla and Vanilla Chai flavors that were both delicious. The Aloha Daily Good packets allowed me to sneak in some more greens and dried fruits into my diet as well. For lunch and dinner I got by with some cooked vegetables when available and a piece of cooked protein (grilled chicken or steak). Let’s just say after two weeks I could not wait to come home to have real fruit and vegetables again!!
Mexico City itself was not the prettiest. The city is very polluted and run down. It is also not the safest area so we were not allowed to walk around alone at all. Luckily our co-workers took us to the historic downtown district one of our last nights so we could see some of the tourist sights. The downtown area was very pretty. Lots of old architecture and cobblestone streets. They treated us to an authentic mexican dinner that was to die for. I ate ant eggs..yes ant eggs (their version of caviar) as well as the best tacos I have ever had. During the weekend in between our team flew to Acapulco for the weekend to escape the city and get some sun. Below is a picture recap of my first two week audit adventure:
Pure Barre Away From Home:
My boss and I both love and workout at PureBarre Wellesley so we made sure to get a #ltb picture while we were there
Snack Attack: More Ways to Eat Veggies
I came across these crazy yogurts at Whole Foods Market of course. Blue Hills Farm makes a variety of different vegetable flavored yogurts including beet, carrot, tomato and parsnip! They taste amazing and are low in calories and sugar with only small amounts of good fats. They are also 100% grass fed and the source their vegetables from local farms.
My version of a Sunday Funday
I went on my usual Sunday morning trip to Trader Joes to grab groceries for this upcoming week when I came across the release of their new line of cold pressed juices. I was super excited to try them so I bought a few of each flavor. They come in ‘Green’, ‘Red, and “Yellow’. The best part is that they are only $4.99 compared to the competing cold pressed juice companies who charge around $8-$10. I definitely had my doubts but I was happy to discover that they taste just as good! All three have a perfect balance of flavors and actually fill you up as you drink them. They are super easy to pack for work or to drink on the go.
My two new favorite workout accessories:Nike Studio Wraps and SwellBottle
The Nike Studio wraps were game changing when I began wearing them to PureBarre. You do not slide at all during the workouts. They are also super light weight and comfortable, always a plus!
The Swell Bottle is not only sleek and cool looking but it also keeps your beverage cold for 24 hours and hot for 12! It is perfect for water, coffee, tea and even mixed drinks. I put it to the test by leaving it my hot car for an entire cookout and was pleasantly surprised when my water was still ice cold when I returned…definitely worth the price tag!
Today I was super excited when my 5am alarm went off because I was off to my 100th Pure Barre class. This means I get to join the “elite” Pure Barre 100 Club (and it also means I am another 150 classes away from joining the 250 club)..you can see how you are easily challenged and addicted. I started Pure Barre about 130 days ago and have not looked back. I was hesitant to start since I was an avid runner and enjoyed the constant movement of a heavy cardio side work out. Pure Barre is the complete opposite. It is based on small tiny muscle contractions that target lifting your “seat”, toning your core, legs and arms, and burning body fat. I have seen tremendous changes in my body since I began and am amazed at how affective this workout really is. Aside from the great physical changes I have seen; the best takeaway from starting Pure Barre is the friends I have made in my 6am class! The women who have been going to the 6am class since PureBarre Wellesley opened welcomed me with open arms when I started and now are the reason I push myself to get up each morning.
Pure Barre is quickly expanding and opening new locations all over the US. If you haven’t tried it out, grab a friend and head over for a class..I promise you will be hooked!
